Bonnie and I are natural builders and our work and homes have appeared on TV, in the New York Times and Lloyd Kahn’s, Builders of the Pacific Coast and Tiny Homes.
We are blessed to live in the forest of North Western Washington. The trees, mountains, clean water, earth and air nourish us body and soul. Come visit us among the cedar and fir trees. We enjoyed this artistic retreat very much . A great place to rest and walk in the forest. We had a visit from an owl and a heron. Bring your drawing and painting things, music instruments and favorite book-or just lay back in the treehouse and watch the forest canopy . May 17, 2019
Sweet Natural Getaway
What a sweet, natural getaway in the woods! The charm, quiet, and closeness to nature are absolutely magical. Be sure to read the entire description! We didn't...so we were surprised that the "one bathroom" listed actually is outdoors. Thankfully, that didn't throw us off too much; we were up for a glamping experience and fully enjoyed using the outdoor latrine and shower. The sauna was a fabulous treat, and just a few steps from the little hut. We will definitely come back to this enchanted forest -- May 23, 2019

Come for Tranquility
We spent our 10 year wedding anniversary here. It's our second year coming and we will be back year after year as long as they have this available. If you want to truly have a place to rest this is it. Bonnie is a wonderful host and the property is pure peace. Don't come expecting luxury come for tranquility. - May 10, 2019
Snug as Two Bugs in a Rug!
What a beautiful place, and such lovely people to go with it. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and mostly kept to themselves but were available if we needed anything. The little cabin was so secluded, and every comfort had been thought of. The stove worked great and we were snug as two bugs in a rug! We’ll be back soon 🙂 thank you Sun Ray, Bonnie & friends! - March 14, 2019
Delightful and Refreshing
Rustic is a word often bandied about for anything made with unpainted wood so maybe it isn't the most appropriate description for a cabin made of natural building materials, a simple rocket mass stove hybrid, a green roof and no facilities. There's nothing quite like this beautiful little room nestled on a deck overhanging a forested pond built on a massive old growth tree trunk. I loved it and look forward to visiting again during a different season! April 12, 2019
One Night in Each Cabin!
Had a great time staying at Sunray Shire. Was a very nice weekend getaway in the woods, to relax and take in the beauty of the forest. We were able to spend one night in each cabin, which was fun. Bonnie met all our needs and was helpful with local knowledge of the area to explore to. Would stay again 🙂 - May 31, 2019
