| For many years, the lower garden at Harbin Hot Springs has been a “center within a center”, a place of meditation and contemplation within the thousand acre sanctuary kept by the Heart Consciousness Church. It had long been hoped that a temple could be built there—seed money had even been donated, so everything was ready when SunRay and Harbin discovered each other in early 1994. Many hands and hearts have contributed to this building, a 45’ diameter circle of strawbale and sculpted cob, with a conic roof of cedar and spiraling log purlins. The spire includes a Tibetan prayer bowl that sings when the weather changes. |
